Splash Park

We took our first trip to the Middleton Splash Park today. Layla was raring to go (she paced around the house in her sunglasses for about 20 minutes)! However, once we got there, it was a different story. She wanted to be held and/or stayed on the sidelines for quite awhile. She put on her brave, big girl pants, though....and actually made it to the middle of the splash pad by the end of our outing! She liked it so much at the end...she didn't even want to break to eat lunch!! Looks like we'll be spending a lot of time here this summer!!

Layla vs. Marley (3 months)

Check out Layla and Marley (both at 3 months)!! Other than their noses, they look like they are from different families!!! A brown-eyed beauty and a blue-eyed one...aren't we lucky?

Mulberry Lane Farm

If you're ever in the Appleton/Sherwood area, and you would like something to do with the kiddos....go to Mulberry Lane Farm. It is, by far, the BEST petting farm we've ever been, too. You have your own personal tour guide, you go in all the pens, get up and close with the animals, ride the ponies, and take a hay ride around the property!! It was great spending time with Nona, Aunt Elissa/kids, Aunt Jodie/Uncle Kevin/kids, and Aunt Julie/Uncle Rich. though, it was a scorcher, and we could have done without sweating our keesters off!! Of course, Layla was the first one into the pens...and the last one being dragged out!!! She was fearless when it came to trying to catch a chicken!!

She was anxious to get the tour started!

The calves were the first stop!

These piglets were 3 weeks old...we couldn't get to close to the mama or the babes. Though, Layla did try to climb over the fence to get in!

YAY...the kitty barn!! They all seem so cute and cuddly, until they're freaking out, screeching, and trying to claw your skin off!

Our fearless girl, catching her first chicken (one handed, nonetheless)! She was a pro!!

Layla LOVES goats and spent a lot of time feeding them and the sheep!

Ah-ha...piggies she can get her hands on!! The swarm of five million flies didn't seem to bother her, like they did the rest of us!

Okay...hold the phone. This is "Otis, the Hog". He's 750lbs. Three quarters of which, surely have to be in his balls. Take my word...the pic doesn't do them justice.

Layla's first pony ride!!! Once she unwillingly got wrangled into the saddle, she LOVED it!! Sometimes, you have to force new things on to your children!! :-)

Hooray, Hooray....

...It's Ear Tube Day!! Layla finally had her ear tubes placed today and she did fantastic! Went right to sleep in the OR with no fussing, did great during the 10 minute "surgery", and walked herself out of the recovery room! Such a brave girl! We were home within an hour of the actual procedure, and other than a longer than usual nap, she's been her same sassy self!! Here are a few pics from the big day!

No More Ear Infections!! (hopefully)

Our silly girls

Just love our chubby little giggle monster

Who would have guessed she's had a miserable past 5 days?!

Baby Belly Blues

Alas, when you have a babysitter (booked a month in advance) and a fun night planned with friends (your first since Baby #2 was born)....something is going to happen. "Something" was a BIG thing. Poor Marley had been puking for 24 hours and it was starting to wear her out. We arrived in the ER at 5:30 p.m. and by 10:30 p.m...she got an IV, fluids, and some Zofran for her belly. We were hopeful that would be the worst of it. Well, it is by NO means good right now (48 hours later), but it is better than it was. We now have occasional puking, instead of continuous puking. Though, the screaming and crying is pretty much still...continuous. (ugh...if you've guessed Mommy and Daddy are at their wits end...you're right). Here's a pic from the ER of our pathetic little bean....before the IV was placed. :-(
