Thriller

Layla managed to find her Halloween bear (must hide better next time)! No lie...she pushed the button to make it play...and subsequently danced to it about 25 times...in a row. I finally had to tell her Thriller Bear had to go night-night. I must say i particularly like her Elvis dance move...with the whole left leg shaking. Not to sure about the arm flapping, but hey...her dance, her moves.

Merry Christmas!

Santa came a day later for us this year (con of the profession)! We had a great time watching layla's surprise when she first saw what the Big Guy had brought her. She loves her new play kitchen and all the other goodies she got this year. Her faves seems to be her kitchen, magnetic sketch board, and Dora's talking backpack (note: this is not Mommy and Daddy's favorite). She's actually been playing hard all day....so much so, she could hardly make it to her already early 6pm bedtime! We had a wonderful day, despite being a bit bummed about missing out on our family christmas. Weather permitting, we'll celebrate with Nona and Grandpa next weekend!

Daycare Christmas Program '09

Layla had her first Christmas Program at Daycare tonight. Her class stood around a christmas tree and danced to "Hosanna in the Highest". Honestly, our kid knocked it out of the park!!!! When one of her teachers told us they had practice for the program, i kind of rolled my eyes (in my mind), thinking...."practice? really? yea, okay...i'm sure an 18 month will absorb a lot!" Well, to my surprise she remembered quite a few of the dance moves. Shane and i are so happy she seems to be musically inclined...cuz we're both...not. though, i did dance for about 10 years...she totally gets that from me! :-) Here are some pics from before and after. Be sure to check out the video that follows! We're so proud of our little bean!

BabyG2/24 weeks

Here we are at 24 weeks!!! We had our 24 week ultrasound today to check BabyG2's growth. Everything looks good so far. She's currently weighing in at 1 pound, 5 ounces!! She covered her face throughout most of the appointment (again), so this is the best shot we could get of her little face!!

8 Hours Later...

...until present. poor bean. today she was being unusually quiet and i went to see what she was up to. she had gotten a book out of the toy chest in her room and climbed up on the "big girl" rocker in the office and was reading to herself. i guess everyone needs some alone time, especially when they're sick! don't you love the "snot shot"?

8 Hours Before...

...the hacking began, Layla was all smiles and ready to go out with Mommy to do some more shopping. Stay tuned for what came after...

Let It Snow!

Well, it finally happened. we've got SNOW...the first 3 inches of the season! since this was layla's first "big girl" experience with the powdery stuff, we decided to let her play around for a bit last night after daycare. yes, i know she doesn't have any mittens on, but we weren't out there for very long! she LOVED it!!

BabyG2

It's a GIRL! We have another beautiful baby daughter! There were no abnormal markers on the ultrasound or echo, so we are very relieved that our newest bean appears healthy! We'll continue to have ultrasounds every 4 weeks to check her growth, just like we did with Layla. April 7th is the due date, but her delivery date will be sometime between March 25 and April 1. We'll keep everyone posted on the latest ultrasounds and delivery date as soon as we have them!!

In the first pic, you can see her forehead, right eye, nose, and her big pouty lips...just like Daddy and her big sis!!

In the second, she has her little hand up by her nose. She was covering her face, sucking her thumb, and moving ALOT during the US. The poor tech had a tough time getting the information he needed, so it took quite some time.

Luke...I am your father...

It's unbelievable how many hours of entertainment these two $5 strainers have provided. Now she walks around the house wearing them as masks. In hindsight....we could have saved a bundle on all the more expensive toys she's NOT playing with.

Playing with Daddy

Who would have thought we'd have green grass and be outside in a thin sweatshirt, the middle of November! The weather's been quite balmy the past few days so Daddy and Layla enjoyed some playtime outside!

Layla and her "Baby"

Looks like we have to include a doll and stroller on Layla's list to Santa. She loved pushing around her "baby" at Great Aunt Julie's house. It warmed my heart to see her being such a good little "mommy", considering there'll be a new bean joining us soon. That was short lived however, when she grabbed the "baby" by the hair and repeatedly slammed it into the hardwood floor (sorry no pics of that....i was too horrified, imagining her doing that to her new sibling.) ugh....

HALLOWEEN!!

Layla had a witchin' Halloween this year, even though it was 45 degrees with a nasty cold wind! We trekked over to the Havilands for some trick o treating with Layla's little friends. Thanks to Nona and Grandpa who manned the Riddle house for our neighborhood treaters!

Mommy's Day Off

While I was on vacation this week (from my other job), Layla went to daycare one day. YEA! (i mean, i missed her terribly.) It's amazing how much more efficient one can be at running errands and cleaning the house when you're not battling a 17 month old! Here she is dressed up for Halloween week and playing "BOO!" before she left. Oh, to be so happy and full of energy in the wee hours of the morning.

Look Who's In A Booster!

Layla has graduated to a Big Girl Booster. She was actually thrilled...as you can see by her hamming it up for the camera!

Watching Daddy

Every time Layla hears a lawnmower outside, she says "Dada?" and runs to the nearest window to look for Shane. She loves watching him mow the lawn. She'll sit on the top back of the chair and watch while he does the entire front yard. She bangs on the window, waves, laughs, and giggles. Though, between the two of them, i'm not sure who enjoys it more.

Eplegaarden '09

Well, it was a stifling 85 degrees during last year's trip to Eplegaarden. This year...windy and maybe 50?? BRRR!!! Poor Layla. She enjoyed "throwin' back" a vat of caramel dip and smiled once while being entertained by a little girl during our wait to buy apples. However, as you'll see by the pics...she could have done without the rest of "family fun day".
