New Chair

Layla seems to love her new big girl chair, though she's taken a few tumbles in her haste to get down. She's getting better at it, though...learning to slide down on her belly.

Happy Party Day!!

What a great party!! We had such a wonderful day...thank you to all of our family and friends who helped and attended!! Layla had a great time playing with her pals in her new sandbox and playhouse!!

Month 11

Not too much new to report, seeing how this was just last month!! Though, reflecting on the past year these past few weeks, has reminded us where we started and how far we've come. Tomorrow our sweet baby girl will be ONE...and we are so proud and so lucky to be her parents.

Month 10

We celebrated GG and Great Aunt Julie's birthday the end of March, with a quick trip to Appleton. There was also a huge snowstorm which resulted in Layla watching Daddy (aka...creepy shovel guy) shoveling for an hour! I knew it was him, but the pics still freak me out! :-)

Month 9

More crawling and ALOT of mischief defined this month. We discovered she could get anywhere...fast. The one place she shouldn't be, is usually where we found her. We couldn't (still can't) take our eyes of her for a second! It was also Daddy's birthday...and he was so excited to receive his first card from his baby girl! i know...we don't get out much.

Month 8

Unlike last month...this one was busy with new things! Christmas in Texas was wonderful...70 degrees the entire time! Layla had so much fun playing with her cousin Kade! The bean mastered alot this month, as well...pushing herself up to a sitting position, rocking on all fours, and pulling herself up to a standing position (hence the need to lower the crib mattress to its lowest rung!) The biggest accomplishment came in the swimming pool, however. Layla is a natural water baby...we're looking forward to tossing her in the Gulf this summer and seeing what she can do (kidding).

Month 7

Hmmm...this is going to be a short post. We had a few pics from Thanksgiving. The jumperoo seemed to be a big hit, and we got a few shots of her sleeping (wt?), but that's about it. I guess she was kind of boring this month...either that or i was a bad mommy.

Month 6

Layla and Mommy had their first plane trip to Aunt Elissa and Uncle Wade's house in Colorado. Traveling by myself with the bean turned out to be a bit easier than i thought...though we could have done without the 2 hour delay on the way back. Layla was great...Mommy was crabby! While there Layla had her first haircut. Aunt Elissa was appalled that i let her have a mullet...i didn't think it looked that bad!! It was also our first Halloween as new parents...as you can see we're not the only ones who dress their kids up in hilarious costumes!

Month 5

Layla conquered sitting up and eating solid foods this month! We also had a very special Baptism day with Nona, Grandpa, GG, Uncle Ross, and filling in for Aunt Elissa and Uncle Wade...Great Aunt Julie and Great Uncle Rich! Mommy and Daddy were pretty excited to bring Layla to her first Pumpkin Patch. We just thought it was the beez-neez showing her all the animals, apples, and pumpkins...she couldn't care less. It was an unusually warm day in october...80 degrees! Needless to say there were alot of flies, mosquitoes, and wasps out. "Damn It...we're trying to have a memorable family moment here!!" Maybe next year...

Month 4

Our first family vacation marked this month. We had a wonderful Labor Day weekend getaway to Door County with Nona, Grandpa, and Uncle Ross. The first look at our water baby occurred on this trip. We couldn't get her out of the water!!

Month 3

First Brewer game, first trip to Texas, first day at daycare and packing on the pounds (thanks to rice cereal) made for a busy month! She loves getting out and about, which is how she is to this day. If she doesn't have a daily outing...she's a cranky monster! She was a trooper on her first plane ride, too....falling asleep DURING takeoff. That's our travelin' girl!
