HAPPY EASTER!!

As soon as her eyeballs saw light... "Mama, i think the Easter Bunny left somethin'!" Sure enough...E.Bunny was good to the girls this year. i'm certain enough candy was consumed before 8am, to last them the rest of the month. (groan). it gives me a stomachache just thinking about it. We had a wonderful day, though. The weather was gorgeous! We spent time with family and had ham on the grill (my fave!). Hoping everyone had a wonderful Easter!!

Easter Prep

Saturday before Easter was "project" day! With Layla's help, Nona made birds nests, colored eggs, and chocolate bunnies, eggs, and flowers! Needless to say, we'll be unloading some of the 50lbs of sugar that's currently residing in our pantry, soon! On top of all we made, Mimi sent us a yummy cookie basket. layla and marley literally devoured their bunny cookies in about 20 minutes! No, the effects of the sugar rush were not all that fun.

Marley's 1yo checkup!

Better late than never! Well, the doc couldn't see the ear tube in her left ear (groan). She had a lot of fluid in there, so the doc is hoping the fluid is just obscuring it. Ear drops for M. Recheck in a week (sigh). On a very positive note, Marley is completely healthy and on track for everything! Although frustrating, in the big scheme of things, i'd take punky ears over nearly everything else. Now, for the stats:

Weight: 19lbs 9oz (30%)

Height: 29 in (50%)

HC: 45cm (50%)

She's come a long way from this:

Weight: 5lbs 2 1/2oz (<4%)

Height: 17 3/4 in (<4%)

HC: 38cm (<4%)

Why ear tubes...?

....this. This is why. The littlest Riddlette is far too happy of a bean to be strapped down with all these illnesses. 4 days, sweet pea, 4 days.

ONE

We celebrated Marley's milestone on the 19th, instead of the 18th. For many reasons...the 19th was a Saturday. ahem..(and we took Layla to the Movers concert on the 18th). Yes, i'm sure that'll be thrown in my face during the teen years.

Anyway....what better way to start party day, than a trip to the park. We've been having beautiful weather for March in WI! It was great to get outside in the sun and breathe fresh spring air!!

After a bath and a.l.o.t. of clean-up, it was time to open some presents. Thanks to everyone for Marley's goodies. She (and Layla) have been playing with them continuously, the past couple of days! Happy 1st Birthday to my baby girl. Mommy and Daddy love you more than we can say.

Imagination Movers: LIVE!!

...opening for them was Choo-Choo Soul!!! We (yes, i said "we")...had.the.BEST.time. i cannot say enough good things about them. They really put on a fabulous and entertaining show! Just as we were getting on the highway, in Milwaukee, to come home..Layla whispered in a very quiet, sleepy voice..."Mama...i had so much fun.". me, too...sweet girl, me too.

Disappointment, Dress-Up, & General Creepiness...

...what do those things have in common? nothing. they are just some of things that happened this past month!

Disappointment: Marley getting herself into a space she couldn't get out of. A tough life lesson, but a good one.

Disappointment: Poor Marley--being shut out of Layla's room for the first time. Layla needed some "me time".
