Birthday Afternoon!!

Well, the afternoon party didn't start off so well. Big morning + Short nap = I.R.R.I.T.A.B.L.E. 2 y.o. As you can see by the first pic...she was SUPER excited to take part in the second half of her fun day! However, once the cake and Dora came out and she could jump on our bed, all was right in her little world! We had a wonderful family day!! We LOVE you (and your sister) more than all things, sweet girl....happy birthday.

Birthday Morning!!

Layla is "2"!!! We can't believe our baby is growing up so fast!! We had quite a day planned for the birthday girl...first we were off to the zoo, then lunch at Red Robin--yes, they sang. yes--layla LOVED it! She was giggling and bouncing in her chair the whole time...wish i would have taken a video! We barely made it home before she fell asleep...which is what she's doing as i type this. This afternoon holds an intimate gathering with mommy, daddy, marley, and Dora, followed by some cake and present opening!! Not sure who's going to be more tired tonight...I'm guessing it's us.

I Just Needed A Cake Pan...

...that's all. I was so excited when a local store had the Dora one i'd been looking for! I went there today to just run in and grab it...after all...i had a newborn who was going to need to be fed. I quickly became overwhelmed at all the items in the store...dazed and confused...was more like it. Marley was screaming...i was fading fast. I didn't even see her stalking me like prey. She seemed nice and helpful...as most older sales ladies do. However, before I knew what happened, i spent $50 on a pan, a vat of frosting, food coloring, various #'d tips, couplers, bags, and gels. I don't even know what half this stuff is...

...I just needed a cake pan.

What a Stitch...

....or TWO. Layla tripped and incurred the wrath of a wall at daycare today, resulting in her first set of stitches. A little topical anesthetic and two teeny stitches and we were on our way. She was such a trooper...as always. Going back in a week to have them removed. First the black eye from chair diving earlier this week and now stitches??!! I thought I'd be exempt from all this, having girls....

This girl is a dramatic, high-maintenance babe all.the.way! She spends most of her time either screaming or smiling...not a whole lot in between. I don't have any pics of the screaming, as that usually involves A LOT of walking, patting, wrapping, unwrapping, binky in, binky out...well you get the idea. basically, capturing THOSE "special" moments isn't high on the priority list. Here are a few shots of happier times..
