The Riddle Project: Stakes, Sewer and The Giant Hole

We've started! YAY!! Thought we'd share snippets of the building process for our family and friends, that live far and near! The last couple of weeks, we closed on the lot, Craftsman staked it out, started excavating, and put in the sewer (aren't you happy to know that!). :-) T-minus: 107 days...tentatively, of course.

New Park & New Haircuts

This week was all about exploring our new play park and getting some much needed haircuts for the Riddlettes. The girls love the new park and it's a nice walk to get there. I also braved getting Marley's first haircut (not much there, i know, but the baby mullet needed to go). Layla also got a whopping 5 inches cut off!! All in all, just settling in (temporarily, at least) to condo living and looking forward for our new house to be built!!

Baraboo

After our day from h-e-l-l, involving illness and injuries, we headed to B-Boo for the day. My folks were there for a conference, so we headed up for something new to do! Typical Wisconsin summer day...eating, swimming, and taking pictures next to ceramic moo cows.

What To Do When You're Homeless for 10 days...

...trek 4 hours north, of course. Pick flowers. Go to the lake. Play outside. Oh, and my personal favorite....run threw the sprinkler playing "airplane".

6206 Thornebury Dr.

As most of you know, we closed on our cozy little ranch on July 28th, 2011. Ten years prior (to nearly the day), i bought the house as a young and single gal just starting out! Oh, what a decade it's been! 6206 Thornebury withstood many changes...and additions. It saw...

...a young couple meeting for the first time...

...and get engaged.

It saw her come home for the very first time...

...and when the family of 3, became the family of four.

It was a house that became a home. Goodbye 6206 Thornebury. Thank you for the warmth, the love, and the memories.

Texas: Port A with Pop & Nana

We finished up our 8 day trip in Port A! It was a lot less windy this year, so we were able to get in some much needed beach and boat time! Layla couldn't wait to get to the beach and enjoyed playing in the muddy sand and big waves. No fear from Marley, either, who we often had to corral from running straight into the Gulf! We made it to St. Joe's this year, as well, which is always a favorite of mine! Thanks to our Texas families for hosting us and to Shelley, Brian, Kade & Kenna for making the trek down to see us!!
