Why ear tubes...?

....this. This is why. The littlest Riddlette is far too happy of a bean to be strapped down with all these illnesses. 4 days, sweet pea, 4 days.

ONE

We celebrated Marley's milestone on the 19th, instead of the 18th. For many reasons...the 19th was a Saturday. ahem..(and we took Layla to the Movers concert on the 18th). Yes, i'm sure that'll be thrown in my face during the teen years.

Anyway....what better way to start party day, than a trip to the park. We've been having beautiful weather for March in WI! It was great to get outside in the sun and breathe fresh spring air!!

The girls swinging with Beba!

The big girl showing off her skillz. She climbed all the way to the top of the climbing-ladder-thingy at the park, and was quite proud!

Mommy's cake making: second child. The cupcake cake...an easier task than freaky Dora from Layla's last year.

Singing happy birthday! Layla wasn't the least bit jealous (pretty much). She's two...i can't blame her.

Digging in!

This girl went crazy mad on her cake. That's my girl!!

After a bath and a.l.o.t. of clean-up, it was time to open some presents. Thanks to everyone for Marley's goodies. She (and Layla) have been playing with them continuously, the past couple of days! Happy 1st Birthday to my baby girl. Mommy and Daddy love you more than we can say.

Imagination Movers: LIVE!!

...opening for them was Choo-Choo Soul!!! We (yes, i said "we")...had.the.BEST.time. i cannot say enough good things about them. They really put on a fabulous and entertaining show! Just as we were getting on the highway, in Milwaukee, to come home..Layla whispered in a very quiet, sleepy voice..."Mama...i had so much fun.". me, too...sweet girl, me too.

Hardly containing their excitement for the show to begin!

Layla's reaction when they first came out...priceless!

She literally danced or jumped the e.n.t.i.r.e. time!

Genevieve & DC (ChooChoo Soul), Nina, and Warehouse Mouse joined the Movers for the big finale!

One sleepy girl, clutching her new Movers tshirt. (so glad you had such a good time, baby.)

Disappointment, Dress-Up, & General Creepiness...

...what do those things have in common? nothing. they are just some of things that happened this past month!

Disappointment: Marley getting herself into a space she couldn't get out of. A tough life lesson, but a good one.

Disappointment: Poor Marley--being shut out of Layla's room for the first time. Layla needed some "me time".

Dress Up: Layla loving her tinkerbell costume!

Dress Up: "ARRRGGHHHHH"

Dress Up: "a yo, ho, ho and a 1, 2, 3....a pirate's life is a life for me".

General Creepiness: Is it just me or does she look like Dr. Evil?

General Creepiness: no description needed. (eek)

Just thought i'd wrap this post up with a pic from their first bath together. They LOVED it!!

Go, Go Red Sled!!!

Being that we've had a bit warmer weather this weekend, sledding was a good way to burn off some of that never-ending toddler energy. It didn't work, though, Layla still refused to take a nap both days (sigh). The only ones that seem to be tired are Mommy and Daddy.

Anywhoo....L had a blast, as always...even convincing Daddy to go down the hill in her sled!

February "Fun"...

...fun, i use that term loosely! For the most part, the Riddle household has been ill (shocker, i know). Though, this month we've been hit especially hard. Layla is scheduled for her T&A March 30th, and Marley will be getting ear tubes the middle of April...let's hope this helps them both! That said, here are a few pics of some happy times! :-)

*Note: Yes, pajamas are the main attire in this set of photos, as they were the main attire this past month.

Marley discovering that playing in the cabinets is FAR more fun than playing with all her store-bought toys!

The big girl finally gets to face forward! She couldn't stop kicking her feet and smiling when she first saw the world with this new view!

Lord knows how long she was sleeping like this...thankfully, the circulation to her feet was still adequate!

Yes, she does this often. No, she cannot choke on this puzzle piece...trust me. Though, not sure if i should give her props...or be worried that she can jam this entire thing in her mouth!

Post-Abx shot, Day#3...finally a happier girl!

Layla's been a great big sister during M's months of sickness. She always makes sure M's comfy, has her pacifier, and covers her up (even sharing her own "cozie" (blanket) with M).

"Mommy, take my picture". okay.
