Happy Thanksgiving!

Mimi came to visit us for a week over her Thanksgiving break!! She did ALL the cooking for our fabulous feast, which worked out great for me! (Thanks Mimi!!) :-) She and Shane also spent a nice day together at the Madison Children's Museum while Mommy was sleeping (before work)! Layla had a lot of fun checking out all the cool stuff. Marley had a lot of fun checking out all the people!! I made Daddy take the camera, so Mommy wouldn't totally miss out!!

Layla and Dane's Play Date!

Layla's friend, Dane, came over for a play date last week. Needless to say, they had a blast!

Featuring Dane and Layla's photography skills.

Their best silly faces!

Dane trying his best to get a laugh out of Layla!

Both smiling (half way decent)...which wasn't as easy as it looked!

Trick or Treat!

The weekend wrapped up with trick o' treating around the neighborhood! It was a bit chilly, and had we let her, Layla would have chosen frostbit fingers over going home! Marley enjoyed going along for the ride!

She was a little unnerved by this talking gargoyle!

Wanting to go up by herself (sigh)...such a big girl!

Showing off her loot...with a mouth full of M&M's!

Ahhh....the end of halloween weekend...it's SO time for bed!!

Halloween!!

Busy Barns and shopping on Saturday. Trick o' treating Sunday night. Naturally, Sunday during the day was project time!! Nona, Grandpa, and Uncle Ross came down for the festivities and watched the girls Saturday night, so we could have date night! Layla even got to go swimming and stay at the hotel....she hit the big time!! Nona had various projects lined up that kept L pretty busy all day! We had a fun weekend and were happy to spend it with family

Nona and Layla getting silly with frosting!

Project #1: Wilson's Haunted House....s.c.a.r.y.!!

Project #2: Making "Boo" the ghost--pretty cool with streamers!

Project #3: Pumpkin Decorating!! I wimped out on carving...the mess just seemed more than i could handle. Nona found a great alternative...mr. potoato-head like accessories to stick in the pumpkins. Introducing....Mr. and Mrs. Pumpkin Head!

Costume Time!

Poor Marley...completely annoyed that i sat her in this big bunch of pokey weeds!

Busy Barns

On the advice from some pals, we headed to Busy Barns this year for some fall fun and pumpkin picking! It's a great place for kids....Layla had a blast! We're looking forward to making this a family tradition!

October

What happened to October? It has been c.r.a.z.y.! Marley is getting big and close to crawling. She's been doing a lot of rolling, scooting, and some rocking. Layla, on the other hand has continued to assert her independence. She REALLY would like to have more of a say in what she wears. Well....until she starts making better decisions (see below), i'll be handling wardrobe.

If we would have let her, she would have gone to Target, just like this.

Not sure why...but Layla constantly wants to lay on top of Marley. Thankfully, so far, Marley doesn't seem to mind!

81 degrees on 10/10/10...

...what to do? Play in the leaves and use outside chalk, of course!! Only a Daddy of girls could truly enjoy hopscotch!
