Sandbox Fun

Here are a few pics of layla playing in non-toxic, completely edible fun sand. Not only has Layla' s friend, Dane had a few mouthfuls...our precious girl has started chomping it down as well. It certainly makes for some interesting diaper changes. ugh. I'd love to share some pics/videos of Layla running around the house, but it's not happening, yet. she's up to about 4 or 5 steps at a time...but i refuse to post any until she's running in circles! oh....what a stubborn little bean we have.

Pool Time--Wisconsin style

Remember that ONE day when it was warm outside? Well...we got in some pool time that day! Layla loved her little oasis (thanks Daddy!)

Layla's favorite game is "Where's Layla?". it's honestly the first thing she does when we walk in her room in the morning.



okay...so i thought it would be fine to skip the swimming diaper...guess not.

Who needs hundreds of toys...

...when you have a cupboard filled with tupperware and koozie's. This will occupy Layla for a good 1/2 hour (which everyone knows...in toddler time...is FOREVER).

Happy 4th!

Heat, exhaustion, and the last day of vacation equaled not very many pictures being taken this day. However, we did celebrate with more pool time, grilled fajitas, and an awesome fireworks display by Uncle Brian. Poor Kenna....she had had enough of Layla that morning! :-) It was a wonderful day with family and new friends Chris, Tracey, Jordan, and Cole! Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!!

The Pool

Did i mention it was HOT? Hot as in...105 every day...oh and 100% humidity. ugh!!! We were lucky enough to be able to spend a couple days at Bernie and Debbie's pool, but unfortunately they were out of town, so we missed seeing them. Thanks again Robinsons...we LOVED your home and oasis! Once again...Layla only wanted to be in the water. She was practicing some of the moves she learned in swim class...and impressed everyone with her mad skills!

Houston

Our journey was complete when we made it to Houston on Thursday. Thanks to the Robinsons for their hospitality...and to Mimi for her help throughout the week!! Layla could not get enough of her cousin Kade. i've never seen her take to someone like she did him. She lit up when he was around and felt the need to hug and kiss him at all times! He happily obliged...he's such a sweet cousin!!

Corpus

The second leg of our journey included a stop in Corpus...so we packed up our beach toys and headed south. We had a great visit with Mimi and Aunt Ri, and enjoyed seeing all the wonderful renovations Mimi did to her house!! Of course...we got our fill of some good ole' Texas Mexican food, too!
