"Ba-Ba-Ba"...i.e...You're The Best Mommy Ever.
Here's Layla's new form of communication...Babbling with a "B". We figured Mommy and Daddy have been hounding her so much to say "mama" or "dada"...that she went with the neutral consonant.

One Fish, Two Fish...
Week 2: Layla and Shane honed their skills this week, doing alot of the same tasks. Though, one new lesson involved going under water. In the second picture you are getting a bird's eye view of her right after she came out of the water. She appears to be pretty stunned, but actually took to it very well, and didn't mind doing it a few more times. We're so proud of our little water baby.

The Great Escape
Our little monkey is bound and determined to give herself a head injury before she turns one. I swear, one day she can barely sit up, the next she's standing up trying to escape from her crib (as you can see from the very short video taken before i ran into the room panicking). needless to say, the mattress is now in its lowest position. 8 months old and already full of mischief.

Fins To The Left...Fins To The Right
Our little swimmer finally started lessons today! They had five different stations to participate in. The first involved throwing and retrieving toys. In the second one Daddy had to pour water from shoulder to shoulder (going over the head) to get them use to having water in their face/eyes...she loved that one! :-) The next two involved "swimming" on a dumbbell and a noodle. The last one they had to "jump" off the pool edge. Shane had to blow in her face, to teach her to close her eyes when going under water. The lesson only lasted 30 minutes, but it seemed just long enough for the little ones. Daddy and Layla had a blast and can't wait for next week!! Thanks to Nona and Grandpa for the swim lessons and Pop and Nana for the snazzy new swimsuit!
